Cables and Wires are one of the most critical components, when you are constructing your house or factory or office or any type of civil infrastructure. Both - Cables & Wires - signify a common item - PVC Insulated Metallic Conductor, used to carry an electrical circuit i.e., electrical current (which is measured in Amperes and commonly denoted as "A''). Electric wires and cables are both conductors that pass on electric current from any power source, it can be from a nearby transformer or utility pole and then transfers it to your household, office, factory, etc.

Both the terms Cables as well as Wires can be used interchangeably - but it's been observed that low current carrying items are called Wires and higher current carrying items are Cables. Another common differentiator here in India is that all Armoured conductor items are called Cables and all flexible non-armoured items are called Wires.
